THE STRANGE WORLD OF HORSES AND THEIR FUNNY MUSTACHES

Did you know that certain ponies have the unique ability to grow a mustache? This characteristic is most prevalent in the Gypsy Vanner horse breed, renowned for its opulent mane, flowing feathers on the lower legs, distinctive piebald coat, and gentle and friendly temperament. Interestingly, the same gene responsible for the horse’s luxurious hair is also the culprit behind its mustache, regardless of whether it’s a stallion, gelding, or mare!

Within the equestrian community online, opinions about the horse mustache are divided. One horse owner expressed strong aversion, declaring, “I find it to be the vilest thing ever… shave it! Shave it! Ugh!” Another commenter, while less critical, remained skeptical, stating, “It’s kinda cute in a weird way, but if it were my horse, I would shave it off for sure!” In contrast, Gypsy horse breeders cherish facial stubble as a highly desirable trait and consider it a symbol of good luck for the owner.

At Bored Panda, we find these mustached equines to be fabulous, especially when paired with an equally stunning mane. What are your thoughts? Take a look at the horse pictures below and decide for yourself!
